Operations Control Room
GSD Security Dogs Ltd has invested in state of the art broadband monitoring, mainly used for CCTV monitoring and Alarm activation. The significant investment in the new Operations Control Room has enabled us to comply with BS7499.2002 codes of practice for static guarding and mobile patrols. The system is capable of handling up to 2000 alarm activations an hour, with all incidents being reported directly to the Operations Control Room and being recorded onto the same software as used by police forces. The alarm and incident information can be sent to clients by post, fax or e-mail, on a daily, weekly or monthly basis, in accordance with client instructions. Interested clients are welcome to view the GSD Security Dogs Ltd Operations Control Room; however, please note that VIEWING IS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. The Morse Watchman key bank, which is Home Office approved for Government and military sites, prisons, police forces, and healthcare facilities. It is an electronic computerised key holding system which requires two access codes to operate, these being the authorising and identification codes which are unique to each authorised user. Only with both codes being used can client’s keys be removed. The procedures used comply with the BS7984.2001 codes of practice for keyholding and response services. In the event of the Operations Control Room being notified of an alarm, the nearest GSD Security Dogs Ltd mobile vehicle is located by satellite tracking and immediately despatched by control room staff to the client’s premises. Once there, a rigorous check of the property and surroundings is carried out and any findings reported to the Operations Control Room, where a decision to despatch keys or notify an emergency contact on our list of key holders will be made. However, if the incident is of a more serious nature the client is notified personally, immediately. GSD Security Dogs Ltd are the only security company in the East Midlands to use this Morse Watchman system.
Within the Operations Control Room the roster management system has three main functions: firstly, the system securely holds all client contact details; secondly, it allows GSD Security Dogs Ltd to electronically allocate individual security officers to each client site; thirdly, the system generates a set of preset check call times, which complies with health and safety requirements for lone workers. Caller identification, which requires a land line, can be programmed and is agreed in advance with the client. The security officer makes hourly check calls, that are cross referenced with the Morse Watchman Timing System. At the end of each month a job sheet is generated, identifying the security officer who was assigned to the premises, the start and finish times, and a total of all hours worked for the month.
